It was built retaining large parts of the original old avocado, orange and lemon plantation which stood on the grounds before it. Located at the La Cala Resort, Mijas Costa, this 18 hole, 5925m long par 72 course, designed by Cabell. B. Robinson was opened in 1991. It is also known as Campo Asia and is a slightly shorter and tighter course than its neighbour La Cala North. It is one of the first golf courses to be built away from the coast and it boasts spectacular mountain views.

This 18 hole North course, at La Cala de Mijas is also known as Campo America and was designed by Cabell. B. Robinson and built a short time after the South course. It is some 250m longer, with wide fairways sporting fewer bunkers than the South course, many of which are joined but also inclined and have wide roughs, making it an easier driving course but one of the most demanding overall on the Costa.

The third of the championship 18 hole golf courses in La Cala Golf Resort, La Cala Europa is a par 71 course opened in March '05. It covers 100 hectares of land and measures 6014m in length. In keeping with the other two courses, it was also designed by Cabell. B. Robinson who used the natural meanderings of the idyllic Ojen river with great success to interact with eight of the courses holes across three fairways.

Julian Garcia-Mayoral of Aymerich Golf Management and is a par- 72, 5866m in length course, set over hilly terrain and bordering its residential namesake, with several other renowned golf courses within close proximity.

Its opening was long awaited as the course had been allowed sufficient time to settle and had been tantalizing passers by on the N340 for a year. This thoughtful time allowance meant that when the course did open it was particularly well finished and the attention to detail was impeccable.
