Close to the Kempinski Hotel Estepona you will find the Purobeach. The large Swimming Pool with its large sun beds is the center of Purobeach. Here you will find the rich and beautiful of Marbella. Boutiques and posh restaurants are surrounding the pool giving the whole area a very special touch. Already on arrival you can enjoy the spectacular view looking over the pool which seems to flow direct into the Mediterranean sea and very often the view continues to see the Gibraltar rock and the Moroccan Atlas mountains. Purobeach is a hang out by the sea, with a lifestyle concept including food & drinks, nice big sun beds by the big pool and yoga sessions during the late afternoons. Purobeach mixes the human need for health and spirituality during the day and a vibrant party mood by night.
Simply relax in one of the white tents you can rent for the day. If you rent such a sun bed, a large fruit platter is part of the deal. The relaxing music of the DJ`s will get you into the right holiday spirit and if this is not enough relaxation you go for the champagne or a nice massage on the sun bed.
At late afternoon you might get hungry and the health food restaurant Terra Sana will help you on that side. The other bars and restaurants well placed close to the pool also provide everything your heart desires. The boutique shops are offering art and fashion, a further outstanding atmosphere of this very special place. If you do not like to drive home after a great outing you can check in at the Kempinski Estepona hotel close by.

Puerto Banus Jose .... and the jet set from around the world.
In the famous Marbella Puerto Banus daily action is high. Here are the great yachts of the rich. A special place for the rich and famous. Accordingly, the shops and boutiques are equipped. The special marks and brands in the fashion world are almost all represented. Looking for an extraordinary party you will find it in Puerto Banus. Many bars, restaurants and discos offer from evening to early morning hours the scope of all sorts of entertainment. How did this world-famous yacht harbor started?
The successful businessman and building contractor from Madrid, Don Jose Banus, came 1963, the first time to Marbella to spend his holidays. This small, idyllic seaside town on the Costa del Sol, 70 km from Gibraltar, was already a popular tourist resort for monarchs and celebrities from around the world. Don Jose Banus saw the rise of the tourism industry and soon became obsessed and inspired by the idea to develop the yacht harbor as a further attraction for Marbella. He bought the former Colonia El Angel who stretched from the Rio Verde to Rio Guadaiza, far more than 1,000,000 square meters. The farm produced agricultural products and had large sugar cane and orange plantations.
In 1967, construction began on the harbor. It created business lines, bars, restaurants, homes and around the harbor 700 meters of beach equipment, everything the traveler and tourist. In 1970, the port inaugurated and was awarded the gold medal for tourism merit. With 915 berths, and intake of yachts up to 115 meters, the harbor quickly became known worldwide. Soon this place attracted kings, princes, presidents and VIP's from all countries.
King Don Carlos and his family, the royal family of Belgium, the royal family of Saudi Arabia, Sultan of Brunei, the royal family of Monaco, Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe, Princess Marie Louise of Prussia and her husband Count Schönburg, Princess Sofia of Habsburg, Gunilla Bismarck, Phillippe Junnot, the President of Zaire Mabutu, the Chancellor of Spain, Mr. Aznar and his German colleague Mr. Schroeder. Adnan Kashouggi, Cristina Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minelli, Tony Curtis, Ben Gross, Alain Delon and daughter, Jean Paul Belmondo, Rod Taylor, Sean Connery, Niki Lauda, Lola Flores, Bruce Willis, Julio Iglesias, Ornella Mutti, Pierce Brosman Antonio Banderas with Melanie Griffith, Franz Beckenbauer, Boris Becker and many, many more.
More or less 7 million people annually come and visit the harbor and during the high season ca.45.000 people pass by daily.
Visit Marbella Old Town and Beach Promenade
Marbella is southern Spain's famous seaside resort on the Costa del Sol in the province of Malaga. The structure of the old town still has the characteristic Moorish irregular street pattern contrasting with the open spaces that were created right after the conquest by the Christians. In the center of Marbella is the Orange Square, meeting place for Spaniards and tourists alike with the Town Hall as the center piece. The ideal place to relax with a drink or just a coffee under the orange trees. At Night Time here you can experience large festivals in true Spanish style. The town hall itself was built in 1485 and the old city walls date from the 16th Century and are still in excellent condition. The church Capilla Santiago Apostol is also from the 16th Century. Take the road from the old town to the sea via the tropical park with it's beautiful fountains. Continue on the Avenida del Mar, lined with its unique sculptures by Salvador Dali. This is one of the most beautiful routes through the city. The Avenida del Mar beach opens onto the Paseo Marítimo, where the visitor can experience uninterupted views of the sea. Great to enjoy cozy tapas bars and restaurants.
